PIRELLI ANNOUNCE MAJOR SPONSORSHIP OF AMCA BRITISH MASTERS MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP- INCLUDING PRIZES TO THE RICKY CARMICHAEL UNIVERSITY!

Pirelli takes its 58 World MX title winning tyres to the popular AMCA Wulfsport British Masters Motocross Championship, becoming a major sponsor of the series. The agreement will see Pirelli running competitions to give free tyres as prizes and three lucky riders a dream trip to the Ricky Carmichael University!

Pirelli has offered up a large number of their market leading Scorpion MX tyres as prizes for riders in the two main classes - which will now be known as Pirelli MX1 and Pirelli MX2. To support racers using Pirelli, the best performing riders will be eligible for these free tyres to keep down the cost of racing at this important grassroots series. 

 

The Pirelli rider with the best results from these two classes and the exciting Youth Mini Masters division will be picked to spend time at the unique Ricky Carmichael University. Riders will get a fantastic riding experience with this US MX legend which can only help their future racing progression. The series will also benefit from a guest appearance from CLS Kawasaki and Pirelli MX star Tommy Searle, probably the UK’s most promising young rider.

The AMCA Wulfsport British Masters Championship has a long and proud history acting as a breeding ground for talented motocross riders. The depth of talent in both the MX1 and MX2 classes is arguably the strongest it’s been making for close, exciting racing. There has been a knock-on effect in the IMBA series as the AMCA has performed strongly on the International stage. The widely supported series boasts impressive entries and has been won by such motocross luminaries as Jamie Dobb, Brad Anderson and Tanel Leok.

Pirelli has an enviable heritage in Motocross with Antonio Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings notching the Italian brand’s latest World Championship crowns extending their tally to 58 World titles. The legendary Pirelli Scorpion MX tyres again took on and excelled in deep mud, energy sapping sand, loamy dirt and hard pack conditions around the World. With an extensive range of tyres for all ability levels, the Scorpion family have become the benchmark for novice to Pro riders.

Big Air Jam Eve

Parc y Scarlets will present the UK's hottest FMX athletes in an action packed airborne battle to decide who can pull the best trick, the biggest air, the sickest whip or even the nastiest crash!

The finest freestyle motocross riders in Europe will be showing off their gravity defying skills featuring the UK's best freestyle riders including Chris Birch - X-fighters pilot and current British Champion; Jamie Squibb - former Big Air Jam Champion; John Pearson - first rider in the UK to pull the back flip on a motocross bike; Danny Veale, Stuart Macey, Ben Robinson and Jon Ritchie.

Come rain or sunshine on Wednesday 6th June, Parc y Scarlets' under-cover seating will offer the best possible arena to watch the thrill of athletes jumping 40 feet in the air pulling acrobatic stunts over gaps approaching 100 feet, whilst on a motorbike!

Ticket office will open again at 10am tomorrow (Wednesday) June 6th. Tickets will be available on the night. The rider stands up straight in the air with feet on the underside of bars, some riders like to clamp their feet to the top part of the fork legs , this is why some time you ll see riders use grip tape on the top part of the fork legs to help with grip.Cliff hanger can then take on a few forms , such as the Christ Air & Jack Hammer depending what the rider does with his hands and body once the feet are hooked under the handle bars! A Christ air variation of the cliff hanger the rider will look like they are stretch out looking as far back as possible with the feet tucked under the bars.The jack hammer will look like a tall stretched out version of the cliff hanger.

This summer Parc y Scarlets will stage MT3's Big Air Jam Freestyle Motor-X Championship.
Big Air Jam is a radical competition where you will be thrilled within an inch of your life. The combined experience of sight, sound and smells in a confined space makes for a truly multi-dimensional spectacle.
The Big Air Jam riders, or "Gladiators of the Ring", will perform breathtaking stunts enough to mesmerise even the biggest adrenaline junkie!
On Wednesday 6th June the Big Air Jam will roll into Parc y Scarlets!

Participating in the Stunt Wars will be Kye Forte - former BMX World Champion, Gary Jenkins - Welsh Trials Champion and Mark Thomas - mini-bike stunt rider, all of which will be hoping to set / break World Records on the evening.

The event, previously held at Margam Park and Silverstone, will make its debut at Parc y Scarlets this June and will see the top riders go head-to-head as we search for the best freestyle rider in the UK.
